Volunteering at Candlewood Lake Authority

Since its inception in 1972, the Candlewood Lake Authority has relied on the time and talent of volunteers to protect and preserve Candlewood Lake. We welcome your interest in helping us promote responsible recreation and conservation.

Opportunities to volunteer include:

John Marsicano & Frank Cioffi Memorial Candlewood Lake Cleanup

Every year since 1999, volunteers including divers depart from each of the five town parts to collect debris from the shoreline, the water and even the bottom of Candlewood Lake.  Volunteers serve in a variety of roles including boat captains, debris collectors, and event organizers.

Lake Steward * Anticipated, Summer 2021

The Candlewood Lake Authority submitted a grant application to promote public awareness of recreation and conservation priorities. We anticipate Lake Stewards greeting and educating Lake visitors at public state-controlled boat launches on safe boating and invasive species prevention.
